Keeping the Memories Alive

Hello!

I’m here today, with my first blog post since joining Amber’s awesome creative team!!  Being on her team is a dream come true … I’m still pinching myself!!

Of course, I was on top of the world when I found out I’d made Amber’s creative team – however; just a few short weeks prior, my family and I were facing the loss of my dear sister to cancer.  I was very honored when my nephew asked if I would put together a photo memorial to celebrate Judy’s life.

For as long as I can remember, I have enjoyed photos.  As my parents aged and ‘downsized’ over the years, they passed many photos on to me. I treasure each and every family photo I have!!  Of course, I have my own stash of physical and digital photos.  And I feel very fortunate to be able to share the photos in the scrapbook pages I create.

One afternoon before Judy’s memorial, I dug out boxes of photos from my closet.  As I looked through the photos, tears flowed freely and so many memories came rushing back to me.  Even though my heart was heavy, I was so grateful to have the photos and the memories that each and every one held.

On the day of Judy’s memorial,I watched as our family and friends stopped to view photo boards and watch video memorial I had put together.  I could tell by their reactions that they too were enjoying the fond memories of what Judy and her life had meant to them.

What an awesome opportunity that we, as scrapbookers, hold the key to being able to share memories through the pages we create.  To do something we love to do AND to keep so many memories alive with the layouts we create truly is a blessing!!

Here’s to scrapping many many more memories for yourself, your friends, family and future generations!!

I have been scrapping since 2006 and have really enjoyed watching the industry grow to where it is today! I have thousands of photos stashed away in boxes and many more saved on EHD’s – so when I retire (I see the light!!) I will have plenty of pictures to scrap to stay occupied! In the meantime, I’ll continue growing my collection with photos of our two beautiful grandbabies!
