March is a big month for birthdays in my family.. Between my father-in-law, my son, my dad, two nieces and me, there are six birthdays between the 8th and 18th (my son and dad share a birthday). I also have a brother-in-law with a birthday closer to the end of the month. Because I’ve been focusing more on our family albums with what little scrapbooking I’ve been doing the last two years, I have sorely neglected my youngest. I feel kind of bad that my (now) 5-year-old only has a handful of pages in his album, compared to the bursting-at-the-seams album of my oldest. So I opted to celebrate all things wonderful about Devin with my scrapbooking this month, and completed THREE pages just about HIM this past week. Yay me and an even bigger YAY for him!!! 🙂
This is one of my favorite pictures of him. It was early in the morning, and the light was gorgeous, and we were having such a great time together.. definitely a memory I want to keep track of! I used a template by Fiddle Dee Dee Designs and Down the Lane by Sahlin Studio. You can click through for full credits and product links.
This kid has always been a riot at bedtime (and not always the fun kind) but this is one particular story I couldn’t pass up. As soon as I saw this kit from Little Butterfly Wings, with his favorite color – purple! – I knew exactly the photo I wanted to scrap (even though I had no idea where it was, and completed the whole page sans photograph then had to search for “sunglasses” on my FB timeline, of all places to finally find the date, so I’d know where in my files to look, even though I looked through them all multiple times… Consider this your friendly PSA to tag your photos.. Anyway…) Full credits in the gallery..
And finally, I always [and by always I mean my 8-year-old has several of these pages, but none for poor Devin *sad face*] love doing “favorites right now” pages of my kids on/near their birthdays. I did a very similar one for Ethan when he turned five and it’s actually one of his (and my) favorites. Devin felt extra super special when I sat him down to tell him what I was working on and couldn’t wait to see the finished product! This is using my Wonderful You kit, plus a few other bits and bobs from around and about – full credits in the gallery. 😉
And that’s it for my scrapbooking this month.. Man, I had such a good time, though! Why didn’t anybody tell me this was so fun!?!? *haha* Hopefully I can keep things rolling and get even MORE completed in April! Wish me luck!
